Blog # 24: New device for migraine available in NZ

Exciting news for New Zealanders with migraine. Mynd Migraine Relief, a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) device that stimulates the trigeminal nerve via the supraorbital and supratrochlear nerve branches, is available in New Zealand for the first time!

Early this year I had the opportunity to review the Mynd Migraine Relief device, and I wrote about my experience in my blog post #24: Review of Mynd Migraine Relief.

When I published the blog post in June 2021, Mynd wasn’t available to buy in New Zealand yet. But now I’m thrilled to be able to share with Kiwis that it’s now available to purchase.

How to purchase

You can buy Mynd Migraine Relief directly from TensCare’s South Pacific Region Manager David Maxfield, who lives in Tauranga. His email address is david.maxfield@tenscare.co.uk.

It costs $195 – and yes that’s New Zealand dollars.

You’ll also need to buy the electrode pads. These are $15 for a pack of three. The electrode pads are reusable, and in my earlier blog post I discussed how long lasted for me.

Please mention to David that you read about Mynd Migraine Relief on this blog, as Migraine Foundation Aotearoa New Zealand will receive a percentage of the profit from each purchase, to support its work.

It’s also important to note that Medsafe has approved this device for use in New Zealand.

We Kiwis don’t have easy access to other neuromodulator devices, such as Cefaly, gammaCore™ or Nerivio™, so I just want New Zealanders to know what’s available, as another migraine treatment option to add to your migraine toolkit.

If you’ve read my blog post reviewing Mynd and still have questions, I’m happy for you to flick me an email: sarah@sayline.co.nz.
